Terry Jenkins joined the other elite 31 darts professionals at Blackpool for the 2013 World Matchplay event, with a huge £100,000 first prize on offer.

The venue is the world famous Winter Gardens, and it’s going to be HOT HOT HOT, with the country going through a heat wave.  The fact the venue is also packed with darts fans, and lit for Sky Sports HD TV just increases the temperature.

Terry takes on his old friend and exhibition partner Andy ‘The Pieman’ Smith in round 1, kicking the event off on the first Saturday night (20th July).

Round 1:  Terry Jenkins 10-3 Andy Smith

While Terry will want to sharpen up his finishing before his next match, his scoring was on the mark, hitting 180’s for fun in his power scoring demonstration.

Round:  Terry Jenkins 12-14 Phil Taylor

What a performance from The Bull!  7-3 down, against the greatest player of all time, and then the Bull began to charge.  Terry 8-9 down on the Taylor throw hits 180, 140, 170, 11 to break to bring it back to 9-9!   Then Taylor misses darts to break back, and Terry makes it 10-9 holding his throw.  TJ keeps it close up until 11-11.. at which point Phil takes out 68 to break, and Terry’s amazing challenge finally looks like it’s over.. BUT Phil misses three darts for 40, and Terry BREAKS!  12-12.   Phil breaks Terry’s heart with a break.. and then holds to win the game.

This performance shows that THE BULL IS BACK, and would like to thank his fans who all #bullieve

Player Championships and World Champs; Terry Jenkins Draw

The final line-ups are known for the next two BIG TV tournaments, and The Bull will of course be taking part in both – looking to go one better and win a big event…

Player Championships; Doncaster Dome – Dec 8-11th

In the Cash Converters Player Championship finals, where the top 32 floor players in 2011 battle it out on ITV4, Terry has drawn none other than Phil ‘The Power’ Taylor in round 1!

Terry has played Phil many times of course, and over the short ‘first to six legs‘ format, The Bull will be looking to cause an upset and put his path on track for a tournament win.

Ladbrokes World Championships; Alexandra Palace – Dec 15 onwards

Compared to the Player Champs, a relatively easier draw, although there are no easy games in darts, and every one, especially in front of huge Ally Pally crowds and Sky Sports TV audiences requires dedication and concentration.

Terry will play the winner of the prelim match between Joe Cullen (England) or Oliver Ferenc (Serbia).

See you at the Palace!
